What Sport Describes Your IT Practice?

What sport best describes your IT processes? Perhaps it looks like a Nascar race. Lots of wrecks, periods of slowing down, and exciting sprints when everything is working well. Things break down, everything is re-aligned, and racing begins again.

Perhaps you’re more like a marathon. Everyone is moving right along…probably faster than the average human can perform at their top speed. The pace is set such that it can continue for the long haul.

Maybe your company likes to run the 100 yard dash. You run as fast as you can go, and then take a break to regroup.

Others are like a chess game. A lot of work goes into establishing a strategy before the game begins. Then, a great deal of effort is expended in the effort to follow the strategy.

It seems to me that different techniques work better for different industries, applications, and target products.

Is there a game strategy that best describes your IT style? Leave a comment with your thoughts.

Cheers,

Ben
