Question for You Today – SQL Server and PowerShell
I was talking with a speaker today and they’re downright passionate about PowerShell and all that you can do with it. We’ve not yet covered this extensively on SSWUG.ORG – though we do have several great sessions on this in the upcoming vConference.

My question? (You guessed it) – do you use PowerShell, and if so, what types of things are you doing with it? Drop me an email and let me know your thoughts.

In case you’re curious, PowerShell is a scripting language for SQL Server 2008 that extends what you can do using more traditional TSQL. Access to OS-level capabilities, different techniques for specific applications, configuration management and other options are available as part of the language. PowerShell looks to be a scripting language that works with the different server technologies, giving you a common environment to build scripts and capabilities to manage your servers and systems.

vConference – 120 Sessions, 40 Speakers
Yes, you can get real content at a virtual conference! It’s the most frequently asked question we have – "are these really sessions, or just sales plugs???" – Simple answer: NO sales plugs in the sessions at all. These are the presenters you see giving talks literally around the world on their favorite topics, except we bring them to you. ThevConference lets you learn at your computer – seeing the presenter, their demonstrations, asking questions and a lot more. You can get a transcript of the session (do THAT in an in-person conference), their slides, their scripts and much more depending on the session. Come learn from the best MVPs, Microsoft presenters, authors and other technical presenters in an environment built to make it "right" for you, the attendee. Check out the SSWUG.ORG vConferences – on SQL Server, Business Intelligence, SharePoint and .NET Development – you simply cannot go wrong. Get registered today – they’re just around the corner!
