Learning Resources

I can’t believe I left out one of the key learning resources I user personally. I was just looking through my SSWUG email, and came across some courses available in the SSWUG learning center, and realized I had neglected to include this in my short list of training resources.

It’s not my job to promote resources on SSWUG. In fact, when I write for SSWUG I try to be as un-biased as possible regarding just about everything. Of course I’m limited to my own personal experience which is primarily parts of the Microsoft stack. That would be true of most anyone. Still, there’s a good separation of goals, allowing me to be more objective on tools and topics.

I have used a lot of training resources. I have found that the SSWUG resources are TOP NOTCH, taught by individuals working with the tools and techniques they teach, on a regular basis. What’s more important to all of us is the fact that the cost of access is VERY reasonable. If your company is really interested in keeping everyone up to date, there are group discounts available.

Here is a case where you get a LOT more than what you pay for. It’s reasonable enough that, even if you have to pay out of your own pocket to get access, you probably won’t find it keeps you from joining in. The value you receive justifies the cost, and your effort. Just joining doesn’t make you any better. You still have to go through the training, LOL.

There, now I have officially tooted our own horn, completely of my own volition, because I am proud to be a part of an organization totally committed to helping you help yourself.

Are there specific courses you have found useful? Why not share them with us in a comment.

Cheers,

Ben
