Hiring a DBA – Your Best Shot?
I get questions weekly about hiring for DBA positions – the most common question is "what do I ask to weed out those that know from those that don’t?" I know there are a whole host of sites and articles out there about hiring, asking questions, etc. – but what is your approach? Is there a single key question that you use? Do you interview all candidates as a database professional or do you work through an HR process? If so, how do you educate those that do those interviews so they can be properly prepared to filter candidates to get to the truly qualified?

Drop me a note – let me know how you approach hiring a DBA (or WOULD approach it).
