SQL Server 2008 – YOUR Features That You’re Using/Looking For?
We’ve been doing a lot of work with the community launch event for this Friday – and it has me wondering. I’ve been reading blogs and such about the release and it seems that no one can agree on the "best" features – the most helpful for our collective implementations. Ironically, each set of "best" features I’ve seen is different, even from the Microsoft list of new features. I suppose that means that there are a good number of updates, and that different updates are useful to all sorts of implementations. I get that, but…

What are your favorite features – and if you’re not yet going to 2008, are there features you are looking at as part of your consideration? What looks most interesting or applicable (or both) for your own environment?

I’ve seen a lot of people writing about the biggies – the compression, the resource governer and others. But it seems that when people get right down to it, they’re finding other features that dovetail better with existing environments, having a bigger actual impact.
