How to Use the SharePoint PeopleEditor Control: Loading Data
This post was really planned as a Part 2 to the first post I made about saving data from the PeopleEditor control. My aim for this entry is to tackle the reverse scenario: reading data from a field of type Person or Group and loading it into a PeopleEditor control. If you have any troubles with Part 1 or Part 2 of this series or if there’s something I’ve missed, I would love to hear about it. Leave a comment or drop me an email. Thanks!

About that Software Licensing…
I’ve been contacting our sponsors and partners and asking about their licensing. One of the first to respond was Confio – they’re doing things right by selling the Ignite software as a perpetual license – you buy it once and it’s yours, period. You can get maintenance contracts for ongoing support and enhancements, but the software you buy is yours to use and continue to use without further fees. Confio does take things one step further; they even let you move applications to a new server if you’re replacing hardware, upgrading, etc. Check out Confio Ignite for performance management – and know that you won’t have to worry abou the software license expiring.

Interviews with Speakers, Sample Sessions
If you’re curious about learning more about the speakers we’re working with for the vConference, make sure you check out the SelectViews shows – for the last several weeks, we’ve been running the interview series. We’ve asked many of the speakers to sit down and talk a good deal more casually about what they do for a living, what they see when they’re working on customer (or internal) accounts, etc. It’s been great talking with each of the speakers – I’ve learned a lot about different approaches on everything from .NET development to SharePoint. Great stuff. You can see their interviews in the SSWUG.ORG media center, and you can also check out session samples here, at the vConference site.

The vConference starts TOMORROW – you still have time to register – SQL Server, Business Intelligence, .NET Development or SharePoint content like no other – all await.

Hope to see you there.

Oracle/Sun Deal
Before I offer up my thoughts on OraSun, I wanted to ask – what do you think? Good deal? Bad deal? Good idea? What do you think will be the result of the marriage? I’ll share some of the comments and thoughts and we’ll see what the admittedly Microsoft-oriented audiences think of the deal.

Drop me a note, let me know what you think about this.
