Here you can find some useful tips to use SQL Server 2005 tempdb database.

Tip: Need to Track Who Is Accessing Your Servers?
Ever been asked to provide a report of who has access to what on your SQL Servers? Tough, isn’t it? Users can be granted access to SQL Server databases and objects in many ways, making it virtually impossible to manually determine effective permissions. Idera SQL secure can do this for you – SQL secure collects data from SQL Server, Active Directory, and the file system to show you exactly who has access to what, and how access is granted. Plus, SQL secure makes it easy to create reports with this information, saving you days of time. Get your free trial here.

Assume for a Minute…
…that you’re using SQL Azure – the whole SQL Server in the Cloud "thing." What does this do to your requirements for replication for distribution of information between locations? Do you change your approach to moving information around? While scalability and reliability are often the top things that people point to with SQL Azure (and others, clearly), one of the really interesting applications of the technology could actually just be a more readily available central repository that addresses some (though perhaps not all) of the challenges answered by replication, log shipping, etc.

True? Would you move to a centralized by widely accessible platform for getting at information for your business? Would this be, could this be, a strong reason for considering and working with cloud-based services, beyond the other issues? Sure, some are say "duh!" but when you read about features and "why" for the cloud-based systems, you don’t see as much information about addressing data distribution as you do about scaling and availability.

What do you think? Is this a core "yes, that’s a big thing behind it!" type thing or something that doesn’t play into your work with cloud-based solutions (or even considering them)?

Drop me an email, let me know what you think.
