Inquiring Minds… What Tools Do You Support?
There are so many tools to access your databases, I was wondering… what do you see most often? What types of things are you supporting?
I ask because the *questions* we get are slowly morphing toward tools that provide end-user access to information. Where packaged applications were by far the most asked about items before (tuning, troubleshooting, etc.), things seem to be shifting a bit toward solutions based in end-user tools. This is things like Excel, PowerPivot and other tools.
I thought I’d ask – what are you seeing? Do you feel the pull of the user community wanting access to the data directly? What types of tools are they using, or requesting to use?
I think it’s pretty clear that this is really just the start. With the BI emphasis and the big assortment of tools available, I think we’ll continue to see this trend.
Drop me a note, let me know what you’re seeing.
