GaGarethS-picThumbreth Swanepoel is a sysadmin-turned-SQL Server DBA. He has been working in the IT industry doing support and administration for over 20 years. He enjoys solving the complex problems that his clients encounter when deploying SQL Server in a data warehouse environment. He is originally from South Africa and currently lives in the quiet outskirts of Jacksonville, Florida. He is a member of the Pragmatic Works SEAL Team with a focus on Fast Track Data Warehouses, PDW and Infrastructure Tuning. Current projects include contributing content for the Professional SQL Server 2012 Administration book, SQL Server 2012 for the DBA virtual training class for SSWUG.org and various high-volume data warehouse speaking engagements at user groups, SQL Saturdays and other technical conferences.
