Updating part of a foreign key

(Craig Mullins) I want to update an attribute that is part of a foreign key. I want to change this in both the parent and the child. What is the best way? Dropping the foreign key and afterwards creating it again is an option I do not really like. Maybe rebinds have to be done then? (R)
